
Health, Safety and Welfare ranks high on the agenda of the Company, and we see an outstanding Health and Safety record as part of our overall quest for business excellence and sound corporate risk management. It is therefore our aim to achieve a working environment that is free of work related accidents and ill health and to this end we will pursue a strategy of continuous improvement.
We undertake to discharge our statutory duties by:
- Ensuring so far as is reasonably practicable the Health, Safety and Welfare at work of all our employees, our contractors and others that may be affected by our acts or omissions.
- Identifying hazards in the workplace, assessing the risks related to them and implementing appropriate preventative and protective measures.
- Providing and maintaining safe plant and equipment.
- Establishing and enforcing safe methods of work.
- Recruiting and appointing personnel who have the skills, abilities and competence commensurate with their role and level of responsibility.
- Ensuring that tasks given to employees are within their skills, knowledge and ability to perform.
- Ensuring that technical competence is maintained through the provision of training as appropriate.
- Promoting awareness of health and safety and of good practice through the effective communication of relevant information.
- Make Health, Safety and Welfare an integral part of the Management of the Company.
- Monitor and review the performance of our activities against our published policy and procedures.
- Operating and managing our Health and Safety Management Systems in accordance current regulations.
All employees on their part are encouraged to contribute actively towards achieving a work environment, which is free of accidents and ill health.
We provide all our employees with the facility to consult with the Management on Health and Safety issues, through their line management.
